I've seen/heard of/had several falls in the 7-10m range causing broken bones but no fatalities. In SA, a death resulted from a fall near the top of Muesli (18m). The 50% "break even" height I've read is 20m.
It's different if you're a cat - you want a short fall or a long fall but not an intermediate fall where you don't have time to get sorted out aerodynamically. |
