I had the medial meniscus repaired via arthroscopy about 10 weeks ago. In the previous autumn I walked almost 100km over 4 days in the Vic Alps and my knee spat the dummy after running down Bungalow Spur on Mt Feathertop. Hate that descent. Even more so now. The knee didn't heal over winter and was really weak and sore on a 20-day walk in the Northern Territory. I then decided the op was my only choice of action. The op was a dream. Literally. I couldn't weight the leg for a day or so though. Then I limped about for a week. Now I am walking and climbing again. It is not yet up to scratch and I still can't squat. Hasn't stopped me from doing plenty of walking although I'm really careful not to pound on it too hard and I take it easy walking downhill (using a pole if it is really steep). As for climbing, well it doesn't seem too bad although I can't place all of my weight on that knee with full confidence yet. Led and seconded a few things up to 23. All my constant failures on routes are due more to my lack of upper body strength than to my knee. It makes for a good excuse however.
