Yes it's a problem, but it wont necessarily mean you can't climb - the doctor will let you know. You can have a hernia for years without it being an issue - it really depends on its severity, location, etc. I have had one repaired, and I have another (statistically the most unlucky woman on earth as it is a man's problem mostly, and to get two is even more unlucky!) that will need repairing one day, but i climb and ride motorbikes, and go to gym, wrestle with my big lump of a son, etc etc, and it is not bothering me at all. It will need fixing one day - when it starts to bother me - according to my doctor. But the doctor will let you know. Good luck!
