When my wife and I are out climbing together, I always allow jen to go first if I know the ropes are clean,
if we are in an area where I don't know I will go first, if there is loose rock jen will go first once I have
hooked up and am loading the rappel, this way she could lower me if I got hit, and is very good at fire
mans braking, as she practices this often, the reason for this is although jen knows the method behind Z-
hauling and using prussic's to get up a rope.... she would probably be too slow to help me in time if I were
to use an auto block on the rappel, And I would hate for jen to be in the situation of having that as her
only option...... and failing to be able to get to me in time.
