Hi all (yes, despite my recent silence, I am still lurking, and was jambing my fists into porphyritic rhyodacite just this Sunday)... I haven't had accupunture per se, but had some "dry needling" as part of myotherapy treatment for quad/ITB stiffness as a result of triathlon. This was a last resort after massage using the heavy application of elbows failed to make a dent. There's some sort of pain receptor / endorphin release reaction that goes on, and the tension relaxed in the area around the needle. I didn't get the sleepies though. I suppose it depends on where and how many needles are applied. I'd certainly try it again! |
