I'll put my 2 bobs worth in here, there are a couple of issues as I see it, firstly the rescuers were not rescuers but victim recoverers as they were not adequately kitted out for a resus scenario, i.e no thermal blanket/sleeping bag for the guide, no bottled oxygen(that I could tell) and nil desire to get this guy down, they arrived to find a fellow climber near dead. Now I am a Paramedic and to answer a previous question on how long would it take for this guy to die, is a difficult task. I am constantly amazed reading high altitude stories that people survive at all, I regularly treat people with Acute Pulmonary Oedema, or its climbing equivelant HAPE, and I can categorically state that if I were to force a patient suffering from this condition to walk down a mountain in full climbing gear most would not last 10 metres, given most climbers are very fit I am still surprised to read of these accounts.
Secondly, whats wrong with these guys this bloke is ALIVE give him due respect, he knows he's dying they know he's dying why abuse him? Adrenaline doesnt cut it as an excuse to abuse this bloke, I too have heard professionals swear at pts during resus (not overly common may I say) but the remaining common denominator is that these people are still doing their best and showing compassion, the people of this video are void of compassion for their fellow climber and human.
And please give me a break, they are trying Jack shit to help this guy, how many of them are there 6? 7? Improvise fools, drag him, set up a sled of some description, Ive climbed at altitude I know how it feels, and I also know that when not affected by HAPE you would have the desire to try anything to help this bloke, these fools dont really care..
My suggestion, stay away from this Hill, climb somewhere where people will give a F#$% about yor survival.
