Fair enough. Guess it depends on the individual + the context. I don't recall any stories of guys getting dragged off mountains where they said that abuse helped their cause. I'm sure having said that 10 people will now post and say it helped them!

The Lincoln Hall example was pretty shocking. By the way - did anyone see the doco on that? I found it interesting that the issue of claimed verbal and physical abuse by the sherpas wasn't touched on at all (unless i missed it?).
