Whilst I totally agree with the whole issue of rescuing someone at that altitude and the logistics involved, not to mention putting your own life at risk - I think taping the event is in such bad taste. Do people forget that there is a family involved here who have lost their son, nephew, cousin...whatever. To be calling someone an idiot and treat them as if they were the lowest thing on earth when they are clearly dying is unforgiveable. They may not have been able to get him down from the mountain but they could have at least comforted him and let him die with a little more dignity other than being labeled an idiot. |
