A couple of years ago I hurt my left ringfinger while I was pulling a shallow three-finger pocket. I felt a stinging pain alomst all the way up to my ellbow, it got so bad that I couldn't even open a door with my left hand cos the slightest load on my ringfinger cause pain. It took several months of resting and taping the finger "away" to avoid using it and thens till it felt a bit weaker than the other ringfinger.
Some days ago I pulled a pocket with the same hand and the pain is back. Not as bad but the same pain. I can produce the pain easily by grabbing the other hand with the first phalanx of the injured finger and pulling slightly with the other hand. It starts as a pulling/stinging pain near where the finger joins the palm, then as i pull harder it extends into the finger as well as into the palm and wrist. Interestingly it's only the first phalanx, using the second phalanx doesn't cause any pain!

Grimping is fine, no pain at all, only open hand where the ringfinger gets loaded causes the pain.

After 5 day sit has become much better already (without stopping to climb) but I can still "manually produce" the pain.
