Currently have a bit of tennis elbow going on after rupture of forearm muscle playing squash after a 20 year lay off - I find that resting it up has made no difference - as in it's hard to avoid extending and flexing your fingers in normal daily use...so now I just take ibruprofen if it gets real bad, rub voltaren gel in and massage (can hurt) to enhance blood flow. Reverse wrist curls and pronation work, press-ups, shoulder work etc. I found ice not that helpful to be honest - get more joy out of applying heat for some reason - just try to warm up, try to climb in control and avoid the moves that antagonise the problem - and stop when fresh. And take the ibruprofen before your session :-)
