Strictly speaking CTS will worsen with activity ie AS you begin to climb the symptoms (pain numbness on the palmar aspect of your hand) will worsen. It would prevent you from climbing. You may not have actual CTS. This is a professional opinion. Although less common these days many people had the proceedure (surgery) but were misdiagnosed and as a result..well. Conversely if you do have the syndrome And no other conservative approach works then by all means go ahead. Deal with professionals who see alot of these cases not necessarily just one type of professional. The surgery does lead to instability in the wrist. This doesn't affect the majority but it may be an issue with you in the future.

Take a conservative approach. If these other guys have had good results its a good referal.
