No, I rarely wear a helmet unless I'm concerned about rock fall. You won't catch me at the base of Rosea or the South Gorge without one. They're a good idea on all kinds of climbing, but they can get in the way and, well, I hate to say it but honestly, the look lame! I checked out your thread Neil, but it sounds like I'm the only @sshole who falls off slabs. I wouldn't want to do it again but I think I did the right thing and luckily escaped with a minor injury. If my belayer had given me a more dynamic belay I probably would have been just fine because the jolt of the rope is what slammed my foot into the rock.
