ganglion cyst removal 17-Jan-2018 At 2:53:05 PM (removed)

I had Ganglions on both wrists and like yours, they were occasionally painful. I also subscribe to a fairly DIY approach to medicine (when I was 15, I cut a wart out with a pair of scissors that had been "sterilised" by running them under boiling water - the wart site had been frozen by ice from mum's freezer).

One day last year I cracked it with them while driving - it hurt to turn the steering wheel - and promptly recalled a conversation with my buddy Yuri who regularly smashed his with a book. So I simply lined up the cyst with the outside of the steering wheel and whacked it as hard as I could (to assist with this you can simply imagine that the person in front of you hasn't moved up far enough into the intersection - driving a car has advantages here).

It hurt, but only as much as you would expect from smashing your wrist onto a steering wheel. And sure enough I felt the feeling of cold fluid dissipating through the rest of my wrist. I did the other wrist too, although that took a couple of goes as I wussed out mid strike. Didn't get the satisfaction of the fluid dissipation that time either but both sides went down instantly and neither has come back. That was 6 months ago.

Need I add: I am not a doctor. Hindsight tells me that with that force I was just as likely to break my wrist or damage some internals ... but I didn't. If you plan on using part of your car, best be accurate. Otherwise use a book like Yuri recommended in the first place ...
