DEAR Yak a heart murmur generally means that for some reason at that particular part of your heart ,the blood doesn't flow smoothly like in a stream, its more like a rapid ( hence the murmur) .This means that if you get a bactereamia ( a lot of bacteria in your bloodstream) there is the theoretical possibility that the bacteria can lodge in the walls of your heart at that point and infect it not a good thing. Generally people with heart murmurs and the like need to take antibiotics when they have anything invasive done to them eg dental extractions ,deep scaling and cleaning of teeth.Check with your doc otherwise climb , live long and prosper!!! And climb some more. |
