I don't have a problem with a video that shows people getting killed or seriously injured in climbing, particularly whilst pursuing dubiously dangerous past times like head-pointing or soloing near your limit. I really feel that the glamorisation of people pursuing activities very close to the edge (which we are exposed to all the time) needs to be balanced by the harsh realities if they don't get it right.

We have drink driving campaigns and smoking campaigns that use gruesome imagery to shock people into reconsidering their actions, so what is wrong with us being subject to such imagery in climbing and base jumping? (Even when it is real life footage).

I'm a little cynical of a lot of base jumping and wing-suiting hype. Unlike most sports where you learn from your mistakes, base-jumping rarely allows this, so a video showing just how quickly things can go wrong has its place.
