Oh yeah, maybe a bit late now, but icing the injury can help treat the pain, particularly in the first 48 hours. I can't remember the current procedure, but it was icing it 20 minutes every 2 hours for the first 24 hours and then 20 minutes every 4 hours for the following 48 hours.
Voltaren (an anti inflammatory) in tablet form or capsule can also help. If you decide to use Voltaren (or other anti-inflammatory) cream or liniment, rub it in and then wrap the area in gladwrap, as it will aid in getting the active ingredients absorbed ( please note I've never had to use this technique, I've found taking the capsules far easier. |
