I love the youthful enthusiasm - after five days in a rock cave they walked up to the route in 6 inches of fresh snow. Rather than retrieve their stashed gear and bail back to BC they jugged up in crap weather and got on with it. Putting YDS numbers to support the difficult climbing and difficult conditions hardly seemed important. Massive props for getting a good quality video out of it.

Speaking to a couple of parties a few years ago in the French valley, they had waited three weeks without leaving camp because of the weather. Speaking to others in Chalten they said it was entirely possible to never leave town all season. On the other hand a couple of South Island guys got a fair bit done in a month over there a few months ago with two bouts of unusually glorious weather in the Fitzroy region.
