bit of info for you all
moonarie is about 430km from adealide depending on which way you go. coming from melbourne, you can bypass adelaide to make the trip shorter. (by an hour or 2 im told).

there is a climbers campground at moonarie- on private property -about 5 mins from the road- the farmer is cool as long as we look after it. the major benefit is that there are no tourists in there and all the gear is safe. Due to the walk up, most of the gear is left stashed up at the cliff overnight to avoid carrying it up everyday. - very nice.
Bring water and headtorches please - people tend to get down from some of the routes late in the day and the walk down can be hard to find in the dark.

there are quality single pitch routes to go along with the big multipitch routes also. there are only a few "sport routes " at the moon with most bolted routes requiring some natural gear. Tons to do so get up there.

local activists have replaced most of the old (always dodgy) carrots and dodgy anchors with good expansion bolts. and there is now a non carrot ethic up there - please comply victorians (not talking to you here neil) if putting up new routes.
