costs $501 to register a car in vic of which 178 is rego and the balance 3rd party insurance which is a nofault injury cover for anybody hurt in a car accident . being insured where you live (state ) can afffect the cover you have . On a brighter note comprehensive insurance (damage to vechiles ) is hugely cheaper in the country .$900 odd with an inner melbourne address versus 400 for a rural address .Also is you insure at one rate then move to a higher premium area without notifying (and paying more ) you can be considered to be only partially insured . Flying to mildura from melb will probably cost you about half as much as flying from the uk. flying to melb is cheaper than sydney as less taxes. dont think you can fly from sydney to mildura.
