Hi

I am looking for someone who is interested in Climbing and Canyoning on the weekends and if possible during the morning week days.

Still fairly new to both sports but have a good general knowledge and am fit and healthy. Most of my experience outdoor climbing has been top rop, but I have seconded a couple of easy climbs. I can climb up to a 20 on a good day in the gym and last time outdoors I managed a 20 also. I have my own dynamic rope and some general gear but no equipment for leading.

Canyoning I have done a few canyonings and have a good knowledge of knots and abseiling techiniques. I am a very safe person and would like a partner who is the same. I have most of my own gear, 1 static rope 60m and helmet etc. It would be good to meet someone with some good navigation skills as I am intersted in learning more about this area.

Hi Stew, I'd be keen, except I'm moving off the hill in a couple of weeks. Have you tried UNSW's outdoors club? They're at Mt Wilson every weekend it seems, and there's some good climbers among them. USyd and the Sydney Rockies are also both worth a look.

Where do you live? Penrith Gym is developing a pretty good climbing outdoors culture, and there are plenty of keen rope holders there. Maybe try them out too.

Penrith Gym????????????? Any gym this time of year ain't pleasant, is it? I would
go more frequently than once a decade if western Sydney could shift to a latitude
similar to Invercargill's.
How does one stay focused on the climb when you slip off everything?

Check ya email and grab your wetty, Stew - have an epic planned for Saturday.

I haven't tried the UNSW club yet but thanks for the suggestions.

I live near Cronulla but work near the St Peter Gym, hoping to make my way over there this week before work as I do arvo shift, and get some practise in.
