Don't be too shy of the shy, innocent, introverted folks from up over - Zambonis are used to used to re-surface the ice on hockey rinks and not on climbing routes. We only do body counts after hockey games and despite serious malformations of the monther tongue down under can still maintain that not too much is lost in translation from Aussie to Canadian. We will assist in furthering your worldwide climbing resume and part company with salient climbing beta - like how to make your very first flash, VFA (Vegemite Free Ascent ) of heinous and legendary climbing routes on Australia Mt - ie. Stairway to Aussie Heaven. We advise that you should be wary of embedded Kiwis though - they have infiltrated the hoarier niches of the gommorrah of Canmore and have been known to take advantage of haggard, rehab-ing (from Canadian beer) roving Aussies and convert them from
raving Wallabies fanatics to zealous All Black missionaries - apparently nubile Kiwi climbing babes masquerading as bar maids in Canmore pubs run up quite a score in this regard.
Skaha is excellent and you will likely run into the indomitable and embedded Aussie - John Fantini - thereabouts - one wonders of all the areas of Canada he could have hunkered down in - he chose Skaha - methinks it is because of in addition to having cactus, heat, and snakes - it had water and proximity to a micro-brewery or two. There are worse choices in life.
Have fun, and we also provide support in bail bond proceedings should you run into solid matters whilst driving on the right side of the road! ;)
Have fun and write home often!

If you survive our outer defenses of Squamish and Back of the Lake (Lake Louise) and make your way to god's country - we can probably arrange for some adventures to give John Long a bit of a run in the memoirs field. I think we have a few little rippers (routes) hereabouts which will challenge your well honed talents - and we will even allow you to recycle some WMB (weapons of mass bolting - recycled bolts from Giraween) and use them on the several lifetimes of limestone climbing around here. Plus we have some granite and Crag XXX to add some creme de la creme to your main course.
Probably can even provide some free accommodation in the spirit of reciprocity - bearing in mind the previous donation of same by the Keeper of Tinbeerwah to yours truly. |
