I asked around when flying through there earlier this year - not alot.

You're not too far from Townsville though, which has some climbing at Mt Stuart and Magnetic Island:

i found a climber in cairns, there is about 40 route known here, so i'll check this out!

there is super good bouldering just out of townsvile well worht the trip, and i'm not that keen on bouldering mt stuart is also good as for magnetic island good for a novalty fun. CAstle hill right in townsvile is also a bit of fun
