One word; unreliable. Some of the higher crags are no go zones, such as Camels Hump and Ben Cairn. Weribee Gorge, Black Hill and Tenneriffe can be good winter crags. I guess the Youies and Cathederals would be OK but I haven't climbed at these much. Further abroad - Araps can be great and you can nearly always find something to climb in the Gramps even in the worst weather.
