Camp at the Pines, the main campground at Mt. Arapilies. You will likely find all the climbing partners you need there as well. The easiest way to get there is to hire a car. The cheapest would be to catch a train Melbourne to Ararat, a bus onto Horsham, and then a bus or hitch hike out to the mount. Have fun.
