Hello,
I am an 20 year old guy form Germany who will come to Australia at the 12th February 2013. I am planing a typical “work and travel” to explore Australia for around 5 month. I will arrive in Sydney and my plan is to travel till Melbourne, visit Tasmania, than direction Adelaide... but I will be flexible.
I also love climbing and I read some very nice stories and saw some pictures about great climbing-experiences in Australia. Blue Mountains, Mt. Arapiles, Grampians, Tasmania... seems there are so much great rocks and I guess there are a lot more which are not that known.
As now you can guess, I am searching for some people who I could join to climb in Australia.
I wont be able to bring more than my climbing harness, shoes and an ATC but if necessary I also would buy extra stuff...
I am climbing for about six years now out- and indoor, up to 7a+ (which should be something around 25) and I also have experiences in multi-pitch climbs. Mostly Sandstone (but I think without typical sandstone structure) and Limestone. Important for Australia I guess, I am not that into trad climbing and using cams and stoppers in general. I have used cams and stoppers in the past, but they never were really necessary. So I guess for now I have a more theoretically knowledge about using them.
So if there some guys who I could join, or even guys who have a tip how to find people to climb with, let me know.
