> why not the VCC learn to lead course?
Yes, I can’t do the VCC course because I don’t want to take days off work – I have very limited annual leaves left, and I prefer to save them for longer trips.
> You guys must be cashed up
If I am cashed up, I would just hire a guide by myself! :) Besides, if we can get a group of 4 people, it will be just about $400 per person for the whole two weekends – not too bad, is it? The VCC course is over $600 for 6 days.
I wish I could learn from a friend/climbing partner, and I am sure most climbers would be happy to show you stuff. But the reality is, if you want an experienced leader to second you on grade 8 or 9 for the whole weekend, it’s a really big favour to ask!
> If you are paying for a guide then go to Araps.
Thanks for the suggestion! The guide I am thinking of hiring is called “Arapiles Climbing Guides”, so I guess Arapiles would most likely be it! |
