In the meantime you could head to Bayside Rock (Carrum Downs) and take a look around. There is a great boulder cave, so you aren't restricted to needing a partner to start training (if you like bouldering). It is a great friendly atmosphere there, so you may meet some people there perhaps. Good luck :-)
