Need indoor and ideally also outdoor trad partner

I'm a 28 year old British female, and have been here in Melbourne for two years so far. I love climbing in the gym, at Lactic, and out at Arapiles.

I currently have 2 to 3 regular gym partners but they are all moving on over March and April (two are moving back to Europe, and one is moving on to New Zealand).

I'm looking primarily for an indoor gym partner, and ideally an indoor gym partner who is also interested in leading outdoors as well (trad as opposed to sport).

I am around a level 16 indoors and outdoors at the moment. I have my own rack and rope, and have just started leading (trad) outdoors, currently at around a level 8 - 9. I'm setting up top ropes on anything that can be accessed from walking up the back!

I would like to climb 1-3 times per week, at Hardrock CBD and Lactic. I work a 9:30 - 5:30 job in South Melbourne and cycle, and so could meet from 6:00 at either during the week. I am flexible on which day(s) from week to week, and am happy with weekends as well, pending any other plans.

I'm happy to find a way out to Altona and Nunawading from time to time, as I can take my bike on the train.

At the moment, we're trying to get out to Arapiles every 3rd weekend, driving out and back Friday after work and Sunday evening. I'd like to keep the Araps trips coming if possible, even if it meant being a little less regular.

If you would like to check me out and make sure I'm not a weirdo, I can send you a friend request on Facebook!

My number is 0404 386 071, hope to hear from you!

I can attest that Alex has the requisite number of appendages and no obvious deformities. She is good value.

Where as Gavo's deformities are best not discussed.

Indeed, I am horrific.

However Alex, while I live in this particularly ungodly (or rather, overgodly for my taste), I try to make the trip to Arapiles every weekend that Im not being forced to Melbourne.

So Ill happily climb with you if your in need of a partner. Im keen to do the Bard this weekend actually...

Actually Sol, what you up to? Bard?

Despite, Gavo's deformities and pedantry, he is a good climbing partner. Enthusiastic to a fault and not that unpleasant smelling.

Unfortunately Gavo, I am booked. Are you still unemployed? Stay and extra couple days, We can do Bard, then head up to Station to Station for some humbling.

Sorry to hijack the thread there Alex. And thanks for more kind words Sol! I also enjoy my smell.

Unemployed? Sir I am VERY employed, thats the problem. Its a long way from anywhere and I pay too much to live in this town doing.. well.. nothing when I go home.

I would rather be living at the Mount for a while, still saving a little for a certain mind-opening trip I am starting to plan, and get to be a halfway decent climber.

So unfortunately I cant stay a few extra days, I played that card last week! Maybe the following weekend then. Or maybe Lamplighter. Now we're talking!

This station to station business does have me intrigued. Ill be having a look at some point! And I am still thinking about Ergonomics all day.. even if I only made it barely halfway up.

Hey Gavo,

No apology required for the hijacking of the thread, and Sol many thanks for the kind words.

Gavo, a climb sounds good, let me know when you are free - alex.aisthorpe@gmail.com

Sorry for the short message, work calls!

Alex
