My ankles are still swollen too; ouchie. Not fire ants for sure, I've been mangled a few times by those things in Texas and my understanding is that they've only been sighted around Brisbane. Fire ants are small, red, and stay stuck to your skin until you pick them off one by one - even after you jump in a pool. Steve, I can approach the ranger about an appropriate spot to test if you are still keen to get out there. Not-so-shortman, I'm moving to Adelaide in January and thus determined that the capital and time investment wasn't worth it.
