Thank you for the comments regarding the website. I have put in quite a few hours into getting it up and running the way that we wanted, and without the help from other local climbing enthusiasts, I feel that I would still be at the initial design phase of the site, slowly bashing away at the website code.

In regards to ClimbingNT, there are quite a few climbers up here who usually head out in groups on the weekend and meet up at the local indoor climbing during the week. There are also a few smaller tight nit groups who stick to mainly sport/trad climbing, but do venture indoor's for special occasions, such as crank competitions, boulder competitions, and our slackline extravaganza. The main goal for ClimbingNT is to provide a ‘one stop shop’ for everyone to get together and discuss everything climbing. As you can imagine, communication can sometimes be difficult given the vast distance and remoteness the NT has to offer. So far, ClimbingNT have members located in Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs, and even some keen boulderers from West Arnhem Land!

If you would like to find out more, visit www.climbingnt.net.au and jump on to the forum and say G’day. Us NT climbers are always interested in climbs/climbing scene interstate, and I am sure that many of us would love to hear about other climbers latest trips out.

Even though the website at this stage is only relatively new, we have already arranged multiple outdoor trips and indoor climbing activities to help mix it up a little, especially now that the wet season is slowly encroaching onto our outdoor climbing scene.

We will hopefully have our latest trip report available soon, which will include a mention of our new boulder project and some highlights from last Saturday’s trip to Adelaide River….which was a disgusting 40degrees in the shade! The trip however was fun, with some great climbing, awesome bouldering, and to top it off, a refreshing swim and amazing BBQ feast.
