Crags on the Bogong High Plains

A few weekends ago I was coming back from paddling the Mitta and dropped in on one of the small crags up on the bogong high plains near Strawberry Saddle.

This crag was about 10 minutes from the road along a pleasant walking track. The crag gets a bit of a work out from the local Bogong Village outdoor ed group, so its nice and cleaned up. The rock is similar to the stuff that makes up Frenchman's Cap, grey with white specs, so I'm guessing its a quartzite. A bit flakey but well featured. The outdoor ed'rs probably only toprope here, but none-the-less I lead up the main face, linking the major features for about 20m, at about grade 15.

The crag is tucked in a gully overlooking a creek, so although its in the area I spotted from the aqueduct near the SEC Hut, I think there is still a much larger crag further downhill. Still, you get the fresh alpine air and snowgums, so a very pleasant place to while away a summer afternoon.

Man, I went looking for that place last summer with only the idea that it was somewhere in Strawberry
Saddle to guide me. It was probably pretty obvious, though I never saw the 'obvious walking track'. :P

Does anyone have any idea about directions to get to this crag? (craglet)

I regularly visit the Bogong Rover Chalet (near Cope Hut) each winter and have spied the large outcrop near Strawberry saddle from a distance, but never been there. Going to the chalet in 10 days time but there doesn't look like being much snow around so considering going for a bit of a climb....

Any tips on how to get there (where to leave the road,) route/cliff description, protection would be good - since I will be carrying my gear in from Falls Creek. Probably have a few people - is the crag big enough to warrant 2 topropes? What's the gear like - big/small cams, hexes required? Any thoughts on toproping? Need a long static or just a short one?

The area is listed on thecrag (or I presume it's the same area) but very minimal info.

Last time I climbed there, we drove to a carpark near strawberry saddle then there was a faint walking track, the carprk after cope hut. That was about 10 years ago though.
