Some excellent advice. I would love the lengths of the cords and a diagram if possible. I have had a go pulling tyres along Manly beach (not a great look) and I can see why you wouldn't want to do it off your harness, my insides went to mush... will try it again with my pack on. Am thinking of going out to Palm Beach and trying it up the Dunes.
I am 55kgs dripping wet, so 25kgs is about my max for carrying a pack.... but I do have every light bit of gear on the market without compromising warmth and safety. I carry 22 regularly but will build up after Xmas.
All of your tips makes sense so looking forward to getting to Alaska and doing it.
