Accusing a group of people at Nerriga of being violent because they have Lebanese ancestry is racist, but denying that ethnic violence is a serious social issue in Sydney is a deplorable attempt to rewrite history in the name of political correctness. Perhaps Victorians were shielded by left wing media from the events that preceded the Cronulla riots, including the regular intimidation of women wearing bikinis, the assault of lifeguards on at least three occasions, and a perceived inadequate police response to these assaults. In speaking on these events, the State Premier and Police Commissioner did not deny that they occurred. If others wish to deny that they occurred, that is their problem.
