Below is an email I just received from a mate. Thought I would post it here because the online expedition approach is a novel one, they will be updating via sat phone every 48 hrs as they go. Hi all,

Well for those that don't know Im currently in Argentina and about to start a 4 week expedition with 2 other Aussies and a guy from Germany into a remote mountain range in the Andes. About 150km from anywhere. Have been here for a month and had a go climbing Aconcagua, the highest in South America, but was a bit to cold for me at -31 degrees at 6000m at 7am not including wind chill. I decided to keep my fingers and toes for another day.

Well I hope everyone have a great Christmas and New Years and hope to catch up with most of you very soon on my return and the rest of you well who knows when but hopefully not in the near to distant future.
