Being a somewhat naive Orienteer, I like my directions simple, and guidebooks more so. From the fire tower I can see: Lots of slab as I am at the peak, a big NSEW rock, a slab outcrop (clearing) to the west, a small hill after the slab outcrop. The trail is easy to find when across the slab outcrop (clearing). In my humble opinion, it does not need to be complicated. But I appreciate it is more accurate this way.
