There are still copies available of Rod Young's old guide to Nowra & Wollongong from Hangdog Gym and
Bushcraft Equipment, both in the Gong. Check the Yellow Pages online.
As for bouldering up at Mt Keira (Big K), some good quality problems have been established there over
the years. One of Australias first ever outdoor boulder comps was held there in the late 80's with over 80
problems established. Thru the mid to late 90's, the Big K was the playground for Steve Bullen, putting up
hard classics such as Double Blower (V9), The Wank Cave (V10) and the unrepeated Redline (V11). Only
a handful of people have ever frequented the crag for bouldering and with it's scattered nature, no guide
has been published. I was in the process early last year but got back on rope and now Nowra & the
Bluey's have drawn me away. Winter is definitely the best for bouldering conditions but it's possible to
climb there year round. Lots of good climbs between 12 - 25, mostly sport routes with the odd bit of gear.
cheers
