Its bad enough we now have signs to climbing areas such as summerday valley, seating, rock
terraces, fencing.
Best to be self regulating and that clearly means restrained bolting, respect for other users of the
park, being squeaky clean when it comes to environmental impact and keeping new areas low profile.
However it is dissapointing that whilst Parks 'invest' in new facilities and plan new tourism walking
trails to improve visitor experience they feel it necessary to limit access to climbers.
Having climbed in the Olive Grove/ Ravine are 15-20 times in last 18months I have only ever seen two
other climbing groups, hardly high visitor numbers.
Personally I would hate to see climbing areas 'managed' by Parks or VCC as it will ultimately result in
sanitised climbing and limited access.
But this requires restraint by the climbing community.
