Under no misundrstanding could you say there is "GREAT" climbing at the Prom. There is good climbing down there for us southern desperates but its really no better than say the You Yangs. Unless of course by "great" climbing your talking about 2 x 30 year old carrot bolts hanging out of a 50 metre grade 19 slab climb. Or climbing at the banned tongue point area, which was once written up as Victorias best sea cliffs, but parks in there infinate wisdom deemed it as environmentally damaging to the access gully. And trust me you dont want to wrap off that exfoliating bolt if you do manage to finally find it.
The vereker Tors are pretty cool and well protected but once again a banned area due to I believe the climbs being near the track and Parks are scared that walkers will start climbing GRANITE walls and cracks and hurt themselves.
There is an incredible amount of new route potential but even the smell of a drill, some bolts and glue in your'e car and they'll have you out of "THEIR" park so quick you're arse will catch fire.
Their are a few good routes scattered around the place but they are so far scattered it hardly makes it worth the walk. Do like most and enjoy the bouldering on the beach between swims and support the V.C.C in helping get these banned areas reopened.
