hey, can't be arsed to write a full on trip report, but me and a mate just came back from blue lake.
We finished work sunday at 4.30pm drove to my mates house to pick up his car, stuffed around buying food and started the long drive to charolettes pass. We arrived at CP around 8pm and after a quick repack headed off, First stop Kossie summit, We got to the top of kossie about 10pm and settled in for a bivy near the top. After a cold sleepless night we both woke to watch the sunrise and promptly fall back asleep, only to be woken by a walker wondering what we were doing laying alseep in our sleeping bags on the top of Australia. After a quick breakfast we started on the "Main Range Track" and at around 12 am arrived at Blue lake. We headed down to elephant buttress grabbed some lunch then kitted up, what can i say i love Blue Lake granite, heaps of natural pro and a perfect setting above the lake (the last time i climbed here was in winter on a solo trip). We climbed a corner crack which i guess was around 13 and another climb about grade 10. After all the fun was done, we walked back to CP and jumped in the car for the drive to the Jindabyne pie shop then home, Mission complete... climbing kossie, 23km of walking and summer rock climbing in blue lake... |
