The hazards traverse can be pretty lethal no matter what the conditions, but definitely made more so
by rain. We were on a trip up there a number of years back and one of the members of the party went
rock hopping (when we'd made camp in a cave for the night) and rolled his ankle (turned out to have
broken it). So getting him off the mountain was lots of fun ;) we had a few patches of rain from
memory... we had a rope with us for use as a handline - there's a few near vertical bits of slab (is that an
oxymoron?!?).
I really want to get out and do the Western Arthurs. absolutely stunning views... very high on the
'must do' list.
