The Parks service doesn't promote Frenchmans to keep the numbers down. For the same reason, they haven't put boardwalk on the mud over about 4km in the approach. Its a fantastic place and better than the Overland if you only have a short time and know what you are doing in the bush. There's plenty of good short climbs on the satellite crags if you don't want to carry everything in. You should be able to find a guidebook. The round trip via Ireneabyss on the Franklin is also great
