Hi all,
While I would happily co-ordinate a resetting effort if I was about, I am currently in the U.K. I have a hardworking team taking care of the wall in my absence, and as mpage mentioned above, some work on the vertical wall has been scheduled.
Routesetting at Burnley is a big job - not something that can be done as quickly as it can be in the gym (due to having to address security for each and every hold). For this reason, a massive thanks to everyone that helps with routesetting in any capacity. My original thoughts were that we probably wouldn't want to routeset more often than once a year, due to the effort involved. That said, with so many people coming forward to lend a hand, setting more often becomes feasible. (Pat on the back for all such people).
I believe that future routesetting efforts will be more efficient than our first ever effort. This is because for the majority of teenuts, any issues with alignment, settling etc have already been ironed out. So hopefully routesetting round 2 will benefit from the hard yakka put in by the original routesetting team :-)
I do check Chockstone regularly, and converse with the team back home that are in charge.
** Anyone wishing to volunteer assistance to routesetting efforts should email burnleybouldering@vicclimb.org.au All emails received by this address are automatically forwarded to the multiple people on the Burnley management team, so responses are swift. People with routesetting skills are welcome, but remember there are other tasks involved that do not require routesetting skills. For example, helping with getting the boards up and down from the vertical wall, helping with hold security, and helping get dirty holds washed in the dishwasher. **
Best wishes to all
