Point Perpendicular - Lighthouse area - the right side. Does anyone know of the routes in this area or know of any 'open' projects that exist? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I never did hear back from him about any of the Taipan projects he wanted to do... i presume they are all
still projects then?

Does he has the excellent Point Perp guide published a few years ago (ok - mayeb about 5 years ago!)

He sampled the proj left of Torniquet after traversing into it from halfway up Joshua - merely describing it as having much worse footholds and handholds than Torniquet. No -he didn't do it. The bottom was a tad too reachy for him. Must be hard, as his little 5'4" frame spanned the crux moves on Groovy without too much effort! I don't think he has the PP guide.

There are 56 routes listed on the crag.com for the Lighthouse Area

Im not sure where you can purchase the print guide. I hunted around on various online sites and couldn't
find it. I am keen to get my own copy anyway (im there for a week over NY)

There are updates to the current guide here:

Paddy Pallin in Canberra has the Point Guide.
The mini-guide from the Sydney Rockies website has excellent colour photo topos showing the new routes and existing routes inside the lighthouse and bayside. The Rockies guide shows a Greg James project (inside lighthouse) and Janes project (bayside).
I'm there from Christmas to mid-January. Can't wait.

Neil,
Give St Peters Gym (syd) a call - last time i was there they had a few copies of the PP guide.
Let us know what dates you'll be up - some of the Gong crew will be climbing a bit at the Point then
too.
(I met you a few weeks back at the lactic factory)

To answer the original question - in the guide, there is only one project on the lighthouse area in the
guide book by glenn jones, but that would have changes as Zac Vertress has been hitting the place.
Zac did a hard route there a few years ago (High Society(28)) and he recently put up another route
(Bung Eye - front cover of Rock).
cheers

John

Greg James has another project just outside of the lighthouse area (ocean-side).
Not open last time I checked with Greg.

You might want to ask Robyn Cleland or Glen about the project on Popeye wall.

Further detail: The two projects from the sea on the right side of the lighthouse - left and right of 'Sex, Bolts and Ice-cream'. Any ideas?

Steve, another open project is in the Bayside Upper area.
Titled Glenns Project - it's open for all.
Crux comes at top - hard mono move.
Considering Glenn did a lot of the 25/26's at the point, it's probably in the 26+ range.

cheers

Why doesn't this dude just take a drill down and bolt his own projects? Faaark, there's heaps of rock, it seems a bit lazy to waltz in from overseas and ask around for free first ascents!
