I've often ridden my bike to the fire trail turn off, stashed it in the bush, and walked the rest of the way. It takes 30 mins that way, and with lots of downhill on the way back, it's heaps easier. The Bogainville ride is much harder with the long steep hill at the end! It's a much prettier walk than bowens, too, I reckon.
