You get quite a few people climbing there in Spring, but Thompsons Point and any other crag in the sun is usually too hot, particularly in the afternoon. Places like the Grotto can be OK. But it helps if there is a nice breeze blowing the stickiness away, and you don't always get that. Many of the other crags are in amongst the trees and will be humid no matter what. Early starts can work.
Winter is the best season for sure. Outside of winter you are often sweating a lot and chalking up every 5 seconds. If you are only going to Nowra change your trip to winter if you can.
