Tuolumne and the Sierras would be pretty good in August. Mostly trad though.... some of the "lower" crags have bolted routes e.g Gong Show, Rock Creek etc. Maple Canyon is awesome fun and a great novelty crag. Go there if you are passing, but I wouldn't plan a trip around it. American Fork = pox.
