Sandinista, Muline are awesome in winter. protected from the wind, really good suntraps, and still climbable through those annoying passing wintery showers. same goes for Millennium except it can be a bit more windy. Wall of Fools, Summerday Main Wall, Amnesty, Cut Lunch, Van Dieman's is a good sunny bunch of crags. Vic Range: Good Friday, Flat Iron. Taipan does get ~3 hours sun in the arvo in winter. More at the left end, less at the right (cause its steeper).

yep it was me (and it says 17 *to 22* !). just trying to give people a vague indication!! BTW Wendy I am actually a cold fish compared to most - I am always the first to need thermals whether at the crag or the campground, first to retreat to the sleeping bag, if I don't warm up I lose feeling in my fingers as soon as I pull on, etc etc. All of which brings me back to the point that proper heat management can have you happily cranking all the way through a victarctican winter!! |
