mootwinge gorge probably 50 m but a couple of km walk in . closed area is low angled slabs with rock carvings. IF going through Broken hill you get to Yunta head north , wilpena then go up the east side of the Flinders towards Blinman Huge amounts of rock continue up to Chambers gorge a couple of km long with a flat pebbly 50m wide bottom cliff 100 m high? nearly 30 years ago since i was there . further up is Gammons and Arkaroola and the road to Leigh Creek . there is probably as much rock there as in the grampians though access and quality the sticking points. I met somebody who worked as a liason with Fred Hollows in remote nsw and sa aboringinal communities and he described being dragged everywhere by fred to belay him up cliffs (from his descriptions fred spent more time climbing than eye work which I doubt ).spend you time in the flinders rather than around central nsw.It is a long drive to sa so spend your time there only danger is very high rainfall willclose a lot of the roads for afew days
