Thanks for the info Wendy. My cold tolerance is MUCH better than my heat tolerance, although that "horrendously" doesn't sound too pleasant. I really am liking the sound of China as a climbing desintation though! Cheap living, beautiful (looking) developing climbing, amazing culture...Stuffed if I'm going back to Krabi any time soon/ever. That shit hole does not deserve any of its associated hype! Vietnam, I could go back to...although with 2.5 weeks of climbing, we pretty much climbed it out :(

Do your friends, Wendy, have an email I could grab by any chance? I'd be interested in how they enjoyed China despite weather.
