As mentioned on our blog....(see first post cptsofcrush etc) Dave and Chris have done some truely exceptional work on this guide. The sheer effort involved in walking, exploring, cleaning, climbing, grading, researching and collating blows my mind. From what I've seen of the early drafts this guide is going to Amazing.

Melbourne in past 2-3 years has seen a somewhat renaissance in its bouldering scene, thanks mostly to The Lactic Factory and now Bayside Rock. It's great to see people beginning to get psyched on just getting out there and having a go. The new guide will continue to encourage climbers to get out and easily find problems and also give us a base to develop new ones. Just the other day on a reconnaissance mission for the guide, Alrob and Dave put up at least 5 new problems around the V7-8 range in an area thought to be completely developed.

In regards to the ACA information. Personally, I'd prefer to have a sweet package deal (guide book) over some incomplete printouts any day. And let's face it, if the only reason people get out more often is just to tick something off in a book (feels great don't it) then the guide has done its job.
